Construction began with a sod-turning ceremony on July 5, 1981.  It was completed and dedicated on February 7, 1982... it features a large auditorium/gymnasium, offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, nursery, kitchen and storage areas... For a congregation to embark on a major building project in the early 1980's was truly an act of faith.  It was a time of recession, with soaring interest rates, and wide-spread unemployment.  Yet the faith of the congregation was rewarded, for within 9 years, the mortgage, which carried an interest rate of 19%, had been paid."  From "A History of Kentville United Baptist Church 1974-2009"
